Validation for the new NERIS module can be found at the bottom right-hand corner of the incident report
When you open a brand new NERIS report, the fields that are required initially on the first screen will appear in yellow and have Red Text emphasizing their importance
The validator is found in the bottom right hand corner:
Once you have filled in the information that is relevant to the report, you can click on the validate box:
In order to validate your NERIS report, you MUST have a NERIS go live Date set in NERIS Setup.
This will display any issues that need to be corrected on the report in the Validator section:
You can click onto each section that is present in the validator and it will take you to the respective section, and inform what needs to be filled out and the reason why.
You can also see the status of the incident, whether it is New, Edit, or Approved
Once the report is validated it will state that is is successfully validated:
To submit the incident report directly to NERIS once it is Validated, you can click the submit button. This will send the incident automatically and does not require generation of a disk submission to send to a state municipality.
You can also check the status of your report submission with NERIS by clicking on the check status button
You can also Un-submit the report information from NERIS if you need to delete the incident you submitted by accident from NERIS, this will change the incident number and allow you to re-send the report to NERIS again.
If your department uses the reviewer option, that will appear next to the incident validator
We cover how to enable the Incident Reviewer option here: NERIS Setup
From here, users with the NERIS incident reviewer Security permission can mark a report as pending review, Reviewed and completed, or corrections needed
Once the reviewer has found the report is reviewed and completed, the report can be submitted to NERIS.
You can choose to hide the validator while filling out the report as well
Then to make it visible, click Show Validator
